Amazing Rooftop Italian in La Jolla
Table of Contents
La Jolla, CA
La Jolla has always been one of my favorite places. There are so many fun spots to eat, drink, shop, and see the ocean. If I tried every restaurant there, it would take me forever!
Before I lived in San Diego, I would visit with my parents. We stayed at La Valencia one time and it is absolutely gorgeous! There are some amazing views and a nice pool to sit by. It’s also really close to the coast, where people can go watch the sea lions. They are super cute, I’ve seen a ton of them on the beach!
Catania
If you’re looking for rooftop views of the ocean and amazing Italian food, look no further. I was out and about with my boyfriend and we stumbled upon Catania. It is a rooftop Italian restaurant that has very nice decor and good ambiance. It is a couple stories up, which provides for an even better view. Everyone there was so nice and friendly! I am a huge fan of pasta, since I make it at home a lot. The Italian restaurants always make it so much better than I can!
We both had a tomato pesto pasta that was amazing – the lunch options were pretty good! Trying new pasta dishes is always exciting. Look at that Parmesan, it was so good!
We also got pizza focaccia with burrata on top. Burrata is so good, and this definitely was a 10/10 and I would order it again. I would love to try some more of the menu items next time. I bet their dinner menu has a lot of good things on it.
The ocean views in La Jolla are just unbeatable! This definitely gave me peaceful energy.
We went for lunch but it would be a great date night spot. I definitely want to go back and enjoy some dinner entrees and a glass of wine! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for some good Italian dishes!
Other spots to try in La Jolla
La Dolce Vita – this is such a cute Italian restaurant with amazing food and good vibes! They have a cute patio with lights, it’s super romantic. Their Penne Alla Vodka is a favorite of mine.
The Spot – Casual sports bar with good food! Definitely a fun vibe if you are not looking for anything fancy. Their drinks are pretty good as well. This is right by La Valencia and a couple of the other hotels, so if you’re staying there, this is great for lunch or dinner.
Caroline’s Seaside Café – We waited in line for a very long time here and it was super hard to find parking. That’s how I knew it was going to be a good spot. The ocean views are SO good! You get a really clear view of the coast while you are eating. This is a great place to go if the weather is nice and sunny. The wait was kind of long, so I would come prepared, but overall the food and drinks were good. This is fun for breakfast!
George’s at the Cove – This place is pretty fancy, I came here for Easter brunch. This is also a rooftop restaurant with ocean views. It would be such a cute date night spot, especially for a special occasion. The brunch menu was pretty good!
