4 coffee shops to try in San Diego

Mostra Coffee in Bankers Hill

Mostra has a few different locations, including 4S Ranch and Carmel Mountain Ranch, but I have only been to the location in Bankers Hill. I just love the neighborhood in general – it is so cute and super close to downtown!

This coffee shop is in the bottom of a small apartment complex, and it has a large window that opens for an indoor/outdoor vibe. It gets pretty busy sometimes, but I can usually find an open seat.

They have a drink that I am obsessed with because it is so good. It’s their Cookie Butter Latte. It is a little on the sweeter side, which I don’t always go for, but I love that the flavor is not too overwhelming. It tastes just like cookie butter, and it comes with whipped cream and cookie crumbles. It’s a great treat for if I’m having a bad day and need a pick-me-up.

This is a great spot to do some work, I have brought my laptop here a couple of times!

Garden Coffee in Old Town

This place is a total gem, and I hadn’t heard of it until about a month ago! I saw a video on TikTok of Garden Coffee and the plants and greenery looked beautiful. It’s in Old Town, which is a part of San Diego that I have always loved. Old Town is a historic center with a lot of quaint, older buildings and really good Mexican restaurants. Garden Coffee is tucked back a little bit next to some other cute shops. It’s all outdoors and there are plants everywhere!

A beautiful quote from Audrey Hepburn

There is a cute booth at the coffee shop with this quote from Audrey Hepburn: “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” That really made me tear up, since I have been in a season of my life where I am working towards personal growth and a bright future. I have had a lot of changes these past few months. I just love the aesthetic that is created here!

The cold brew I got was amazing, and the brown sugar syrup was really good. My boyfriend got an Americano, and the cup was really cute.

There is also a lot of seating so if you want to bring your laptop and do some work, this is a great spot.

Moe Coffee in Little Italy

I frequently walk to Moe Coffee, and it has such a little cute outdoor area where I often take my boyfriend’s dog. There are also some pretty plants and it is such a great vibe for when you are trying to get some fresh air.

I have gotten a lot of different drinks there, but I love the Full Moon Latte, which is a seasonal drink. It is a latte that has both white mocha and normal mocha in it. I am a big mocha lover, so I think it’s super yummy! They have rotating seasonal drinks, so I am excited to see what they have for the Christmas season.

Humble Bean Cafe in Bay Park

I came across Humble Bean Cafe in the Bay Park area, and there is a drink there that I absolutely love! It is the Tiramisu Latte. I am a big fan of tiramisu, and so I thought I would give it a try. It’s delicious!

There are a lot of other drinks on that menu that look good as well. I ordered the avocado toast one time and it was really yummy.

They have an indoor and outdoor area, and their outdoor patio has some umbrellas for when it’s super sunny!

Exploring San Diego

San Diego has so many fun things to offer, and I love the food and drink scene. I am excited to try out some new coffee shops and write about them as well! Getting coffee is such a simple pleasure that helps me have a great day!
